Description:
silver jeton (undated but early reign of Louis XV) struck at La Monnaie, Paris for `jurez aulneurs et visiteurs de toille'....basically appointed officers for administering the trade /guild of canvas making in France. An Aulneur (Alder / Alderman) was a status given to those permitted to administer oaths and measures in relation to given crafts /trades /guilds. In this case the canvas making industry.
