Gold 20 francs of Grand-Duc Jean de Luxembourg. Luxembourg was founded in about 963 AD as a Grandy Duchy, it lies at the junction of Belgium France and Germany. Under domination by various European states it became independent in 1867 at the Treaty of London. For years its currency was interchangeable with that of Belgium, it is now part of the Eurozone.
