Presentation of Colours to Birmingham Loyal Association, Great Britain. There were many scares concerning French invasion. In 1798 a small French force in fact landed in Ireland. Leading up to that event many local militias were raised of which this was one. It has been crudely pierced and was probably worn by one of the volunteers.
