Description:
Opening of Waterloo Bridge, Great Britain. A fairly common medal, about 4,200 of these were produced for the people attending the opening of the bridge which was demolished in 1936. One authority says 'An allocation of silver had been made for the Waterloo medal, the first campaign medal for issue to all ranks; these medals were struck from the remaining silver.'
