Description:
Upper Canada Preserved Medal. Silver, Gem Proof. Design by Thomas Wyon, Jr. of the Royal Mint for Canadian veterans of the War of 1812. Most destroyed. Ex Stacks John Ford auction. Ex. FCC Boyd. The obverse design symbolizes the Canadian beaver under attack by the American eagle, but protected by the British lion. "UPPER CANADA PRESERVED". The reverse reads "PRESENTED BY A GRATEFUL COUNTRY. FOR MERIT."
