1866 SEATED LIBERTY HALF DIME (Obverse Legend). The 1866 proof half dime was struck to the tune of 725 pieces yet of all certified specimens, only 20 or so examples have been given the Cameo designation. This example exhibits outstanding contrast on both sides, and is bathed in a delicate array of cobalt-blue, lavender, and gold-tan patina. Razor-sharp definition shows on the frosted motifs, and impeccable preservation characterizes the surfaces.
