Description:
The original Johanna was Portugese & Brazilian coin struck between 1722-1733. A gold coin, weighing 28.68grams, circulated the whole World, being produced during the reign of John V of Portugal. The Johanna's significance in Australia's numismatic history was estabilished in 1800. The Johanna was the highest denomination coin of the Proclamation series, being valued at 4 pounds.
The one in the picture is a fine Silver coin with a ively Gold plated finish, weighing 60.46grams.
