Description:
Germany/Britain, Propoganda Caopy Goetz Sinking Lusitania, Skeleton 1915 by Karl Goetz. Cast iron, 55mm, 68g. This piece is embroiled in one of the most spectacular events of the war, the sinking of the passenger liner Lusitania by a German U-Boat on May 1915. It fed American sympathy for the allies and was one of the events that eventually drew the US into the war almost 2 years later. The Allies used the sinking as an example of the barbarity of the German unrestricted u-boat warfare campaign.
