Description:
Host Coin: 1773 8 Reales of Mexico, minted at Mexico City, Assayer FM.
In 1797, because of a desperate shortage of silver coins, half a million pounds worth of Spanish dollars issued by Charles IV were overstamped by the Bank of England with a small engraving of George III, resulting in the popular description of "the head of a fool stamped on the neck of an ass."
