The 1848 patterns are all rare and consist of three different obverse busts of Victoria and many different reverses, all designed and engraved by the famous William Wyon. This was a trial denomination along with one "Decimal" and one "Florin." The Florin denomination stuck, and the next year, 1849, the Gothic Florin was born. Now graded by NGC PF65 (why not at least 66?). None graded higher of this combination ESC-899.
