The obverse of the coin features a stylised Vytis, the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania, the inscription LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), the year of issue (2018), denomination (€5) and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint. The reverse of the coin depicts two stylised satellites (Lituanica SAT-1 and LitSAT-1), their flight trajectory, and fragments of messages sent from space – Linkėjimai visiems lietuviams (Greetings to all Lithuanians around the world) and Lietuva myli laisvę (Lithuania loves freedom). Designed by Lukas Šiupšinskas (reverse) and Eglė Ratkutė (obverse). Mintage 4,000 pcs. Issued 06-11-2018. The coin was minted at the state enterprise Lithuanian Mint. |
