| Fifty Kroner of 1978, issued to celebrate the 75th birthday of King Olav V who was born on the 2nd of July 1903. This is a magnificent coin. The obverse design reminds us of some of the finest pieces of ancient classical Greek coinage. The portrait almost fills the coin, and there is no inscription to detract from its bold design in high relief. The design on the reverse is also clean and simple, almost minimalist.
