Passage du Grand Saint Bernard, France.

This medal commemorates the passage of the French Army over the St. Bernard Pass made famous by the misleading painting of Napoleon on a rearing horse. A note in Bramsen said: 'By the convention of Alexandria, June 15, 1800, two days after the battle of Marengo, signed between Berthier and Melas, 12 castles (and not 11) were given to the French troops.'
