New Brunswick - 1/2 penny token (Corroded, scratched) Due to a currency shortage the government of New Brunswick entered a contract to procure new coppers. The British government was furious and rebuked the local government who then told the Colonial office in London that the contract had been cancelled. They then went ahead and quietly obtained these pieces from Bolton & Watt of Soho. The British didn't find out until 1853 when the new Lt. Governor put in an application for more.
