Bombay Mint (B)British silver trade dollars were similar in size to the crown and were issued as bullion coins for the purpose of commercial transactions between the United Kingdom and the far-East. Minting in Bombay (as opposed to London) is indicated by a small incuse B on the central prong of Britannia's trident. In 1900, 1901, and 1902 trade dollars were also minted in Calcutta - the numbers issued were relatively small. |
