| The 1918 Illinois commemorative half dollar was only the third coin in the series to be issued, the first being the 1892/3 Columbian Exposition coin. After this, a commemorative 50 cents became almost an annual issue. Sometime called the Lincoln half dollar, this has the reputation of being one of the most attractive US commemorative issues. |
