We tend to see very few coins of Djibouti, partly because of its small population, and therefore low mintages. The coin pictured is a silver proof coin marketed as part of a collection of 'Ships and Explorers'. Reverse: A 17th century frigate (sailing ship) in full sail, with a representation of the Djiboutian flag in an exergue formed by waves, with the legend: FREGATE BATEAU A VOILE DU 17e SIECLE 100 DJF. Obverse: The coat of arms of the Republic of Djibouti. |
