George III Silver Plated Copper Proof, BMC 1120 (this piece listed). Practically as struck and of the highest rarity. This coin particulary important as the piercing led C W Peck to do specific gravity tests on all silver plated patterns; the inner copper core is visible inside the hole. This coin came with 3 handwritten letters by Peck to R.N.P Hawkins, who purchased it from Seaby in 1943. Peck believed this coin to be unique, however when he added it to the BMC he listed it as EXR.
